University of Tartu will host a neuro-comedy play

On March 20 at 19:00 the Belgian comedy play "Cerebrum" will take place in the grand auditorium of the New Anatomical Theatre (Näituse 2, Tartu). See the trailer here!

What if reality was just a fabrication of our brains? As the seat of our memory, our perceptions and our identity, the brain remains an intimate organ, mysterious because most of us are unfamiliar with it.

Actor and biophysicist specialising in cerebral plasticity, Yvain Juillard uses playful and surprising experiments to pass on the latest scientific knowledge to the public, offering a unique opportunity for a simple debate on neuroscience. Can cognitive neuroscience respond to societal and citizen issues with at least the same success as it has in the field of consumer marketing?

The performance takes place within the framework of Francophonie Month and Brain Week. The show is in French with English subtitles.

Free entrance!

"Ode to the brain! It's a real declaration of love, motivated by admiration, that actor Yvain Juillard (who also played Louis XVI in Joël Pommerat's revolutionary epic) has concocted for the stage. [...] Salutary when obscurantism rears its ugly head again..."

Emmanuelle Bouchez, TÉLÉRAMA - coup de coeur 2022 du Festival d'Avignon OFF

"An actor who is also a biophysicist "Specialised in cerebral plasticity". Who better than him to talk about this still little-known part of the human body: the brain."

G.R., L'HUMANITÉ

"It's life that expresses itself in these words and gestures".

Manuel Piolat Soleymat, LA TERRASSE

"Awarded the Label d'Utilité Publique in Belgium and endorsed by the CNRS in France, Cerebrum observes our own brains at play with reality".

Catherine Makereel, LE SOIR

Belgian theatre's flagship show, already 155 performances in Belgium, France and Europe.
