15. detsembril kell 11.00 peab Sheffieldi Ülikooli professor Glenn Waller avaliku loengu „The use of exposure therapy in cognitive-behavioural therapy for eating disorders: Maximizing the chances of patient recovery“. Kõik huvilised on oodatud loengut kuulama Näituse 2 ruumi 121.
Loengu kohta ütleb prof. Waller järgmist:
Anxiety is a central element in eating disorders, manifesting as fears and safety behaviours relating to multiple eating disorder symptoms. This core role for anxiety suggests that exposure with response prevention should be widely used within cognitive-behavioural therapy for eating disorders. Furthermore, recent clinical research has shown that the inhibitory learning model of exposure therapy has an important role to play in deepening and generalising safety learning in eating disorders, significantly reducing the time needed for effective treatment. This lecture will address the evidence that exposure therapy is an effective tool for clinicians to use when working with all eating disorders. However, it will also consider the reasons that exposure is seriously under-used when treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders in general.
